How to install TWRP and ROOT Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (SM-T710) on Marshmallow


  • This guide is only for Galaxy Tab S2 SM-T710. Do not try this on any other device.
  • Charge your device up to 50%.
  • Use original data cable to establish connection between your PC and your phone.
  • Backup your important data.

Required Downloads:

  • Download and install Samsung USB drivers. (
  • Download and extract Odin. (
  • Download TWRP Recovery file according to your device and model number. (
  • Download CF-Autoroot according to your device. (


Flashing custom recovery and rooting the device VOID its WARRANTY. TakoPost may not be held responsible for bricking your device. Make sure you downloaded and use the correct file for your device.


If you have a KNOX-enabled device, using CF-Auto-Root will trip the KNOX WARRANTY VOID status!


If your device storage is ENCRYPTED, using CF-Auto-Root will WIPE your DATA!

Install TWRP Recovery and Root you Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 T710 on Android Marshmallow

  1. Download the file and extract the file on your PC. Run the .exe file to open Odin Window.Odin_select
  2. Switch off your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and boot it into the Download Mode. To do this, power off your device and then press and hold  Home + Volume Down + Power button simultaneously for 2-3 seconds. When you see the warning screen, press the Volume Up button to continue.   3. Connect your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 to the computer using an USB cable.
  4. When you connect the device, the ID: COM port on Odin will turn Blue. You’ll also see “<ID:XXX> Added!!!” message in the log section. If Odin does not detect your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, try to reinstall drivers or try another USB port.
  5. Check “AP” box and click on AP. A window will pop up, navigate to the folder where you have extracted the firmware and select “twrp_3.0.2-1_sm-t710.tar” file (name may vary according to the version you have downloaded).Odin_select
  6. Click on the “Options” tab and make sure that only “F. Reset Time” box is checked. (Do NOT check Re-Partition box).Odin_options
  7. Now, click the “Start” button on Odin to begin firmware installation.
  8. Once you get a PASS! message on Odin, you will need to manual power off the tablet. (The following step is VERY important, you need to boot to recovery after flashing with Odin or TWRP Recovery may not be install successfully and it will be replaced with stock recovery.)Odim_success
  9. Now power down your tablet by pressing and hold  Home + Volume Down + Power button simultaneously then as soon as the screen goes blank immediately change to Volume Up button whilst still holding the other buttons. TWRP recovery should boot up. If it says something about Keep System Read only, just swipe right to unlock.TWRP_Keep_System_Read_Only
  10. Once you’ve successfully boot into TWRP recovery, switch off your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablet. Put it in Download Mode again using the instructions in step 2.
  11. Connect your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablet to your PC again.
  12. Open Odin, and using instructions in step 5 and 6, this time select “CF-Auto-Root-gts28wifi-gts28wifixx-smt710.tar.md5” file.
  13. Once done, reboot your device manually by pressing Home + Volume Down + Power button simultaneously.
  14. After booting up, check out the SuperSu app in application drawer and install Root Checker from Google Play Store to verity you have root access.
  15. That’s it. You have successfully installed TWRP and rooted your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 running on Marshmallow.

How to hide mock location on Android (So that you can play Pokemon GO)

Xposed is a powerful framework that enables you to modify your Android software, and enables customisation, personalisation and add functionalities over the stock firmware from the Installer APK. It works on both Custom ROMS and Stock based ROMS, provided you have an unlocked bootloader, root privileges and a custom recovery like TWRP setup on your Android device.

Xposed APK acts a middle man between Xposed Framework & Xposed modules. It allows the modules to makes changes to the system files using the Xposed framework.

Use Xposed uninstaller if your device doesn’t boot after installing Xposed framework, install this framework remover zip and everything will be fine.

Hide Mock Location is Xposed Module, which hides information about ‘Allow mock locations’ setting enabled or Fake GPS app running to chosen applications.

Installations steps:

  1. Your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 must be rooted with TWRP installed.
  2. Download and save the installations ZIP and APK flies to your device’s internal storage or SD card. Place the files where you can easily locate it.
  3. Now boot into TWRP recovery. Turn off your device completely and then press and hold Volume Down + Power button for a few seconds. If you see the following screen, you have successfully booted into the TWRP recovery.TWRP_Home
  4. Tap on “Install” and navigate to the Xposed Framework ZIP file ( Select it and swipe right to confirm installation.Xposed_Install
  5. Once installation has completed you can tap on “reboot to system” option.
  6. The first boot may take some time and once you reboot into the system, install XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk. IF the system doesn’t boot or you come across boot loop, you can simply flash the Xposed Uninstaller ZIP by following step 3-5 again.
  7. Now install Hide Mock Location APK. Once you have successfully install the app, run Xposed Installer and tap on “Modules” option. Then tap on Hide Mock Location to enable the module.
  8. Now you will need to configure Hide Mock Location by launching the app, select WHITELIST MODE and find the application that you would like to hide the mock location. E.g. Fake GPS.
