This week’s Pokémon Go update not only brought with it 80 new monsters and customization options, but new Evolution Items as well. Here’s the Pokémon that evolve using evolutionary items.

Dragon Scale

  • Seadra evolves into Kingdra for 100 candies

King’s Rock

  • Poliwhirl evolves into Politoed for 100 candies
  • Slowpoke evolves into Slowking for 50 candies

Metal Coat

  • Scyther evolves into Scizor for 50 candies
  • Onix evolves into Steelix for 50 candies

Sun Stone

  • Gloom evolves into Bellossom for 100 candies
  • Sunkern evolves into Sunflora for 50 candies

Up Grade

  • Porygon evolves into Porygon2 for 50 candies

The only way to obtain these evolution items is to visit PokéStops and spin the Photo Discs. The evolution items appear randomly, so there’s a small chance a Sun Stone, King’s Rock, Metal Coat, Dragon Scale, or Up Grade, will appear along with the usual PokéBalls and potions.

After two weeks of playing and spinning the Photo Discs, I managed to get 4 Sun Stones, 2 King’s Rock and 1 Dragon Scale.  Looking forward to get a Metal Coat and an Up Grade!Pokemon_Go_Sun_Stone_Kings_Rock_Dragon_Scale

New updates from Niantic

The 7-day ‘First PokéStop of the Day’ streak will now award a random Evolution item. Can’t miss a day of Pokemon Go now 🙂
